) Virtual Office Management Means Effective Communication
Sharyn Katz, accounting manager for Boston Software Systems Inc., in Sherborn, Mass., says, "I enjoy the independence and freedom of being able to set my own workflow based on the company's needs and priorities." Certainly, she must be prepared to "deliver the goods" when her boss needs them, but she has a great deal of leeway when creating her own schedule. Others say they enjoy not having to report to an office on a regular basis. They can work from their own home or another space. In fact, they can be wherever they like--a client's office, the library, the coffee shop, the beach--wherever they feel content and most productive. Other employees say they enjoy being almost totally responsible for themselves with no boss or supervisor hanging around their desk, looking over their shoulder or pressuring them for work results. ) Time to rekindle bonds
The triumphant story of Tally, Indian accounting software for small business, exemplifies, how well Indian programmes compare with other foreign packages that are often ‘atrociously expensive' and require highly skilled manpower to run.
Similarly, in the post-globalisation phase of the world economy, Indian multinationals have started focusing on Egypt as an investment destination. India is the 12th largest investor in Egypt.

And there is a long-held apprehension. How far has Indian foreign policy been earnest in taking stock of the new situation? The vacuum left by the end of the Cold War necessitates a concerted move for a multi-polar world by these two champions of the third way. More>>

) Sage to step into the on-demand ring
News started leaking late last week that Sage, the UK's largest software company, will release an on-demand accounting application called SageLive aimed at the SMB market. Details are sketchy beyond a blog post by competitor KashFlow but it seems the company is finally getting serious about the on-demand space after many years of false starts: It's totally different to anything I've ever seen from them before. It's all in AJAX (posting to a Sage 50 database as the backend) and has a very nice interface. If it wasn't for the Sage name in the top right-corner you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for the work of a cutting-edge Israeli start up.
Author Duane Jackson both praises what he saw and puts it down in equal measure. For me, the most damning indictment is:
One of the first things I try with a new accounting product is to create an invoice. More>>
